Turkish coffee is a method of preparing coffee in which very finely ground coffee beans are boiled in a pot (cezve), often with sugar. It is traditionally served in a small cup where the grounds are allowed to settle at the bottom.

  • Total Time: 6 minutes
  • Yield: 1 Glass 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 60 ml Water
  • 2 tsp Finely Ground Turkish Coffee
  • Sugar (To Taste)

Instructions

  1. In a cezve (turkish coffee pot), combine water, coffee grounds, and sugar if using.
  2. Stir to combine and place the cezve over low heat.
  3. Heat slowly, stirring occasionally, until a foam begins to form on the surface.
  4. Remove from heat and spoon the foam into the coffee cups.
  5. Return the cezve to the heat and let it come to a final boil.
  6. Pour the remaining coffee into the cups, being careful not to disturb the foam.
