Ingredients
- 45 ml Blended Scotch Whisky
- 15 ml Islay Scotch (for float)
- 20 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
- 20 ml Honey-Ginger Syrup
- Ice Cubes
- Candied Ginger or Lemon Peel (for garnish)
Instructions
- To make honey-ginger syrup, combine 1 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp water, and 1/4 tsp grated ginger in a pan and warm for 2 minutes until thin – strain and cool.
- Add blended Scotch, lemon juice, and honey-ginger syrup into a shaker filled with ice.
- Shake briskly for about 20 seconds until the shaker feels cold to touch.
- Strain into an Old Fashioned glass filled with fresh ice cubes.
- Gently pour the Islay Scotch over the back of a spoon to float it on top – creating that signature smoky layer.
- Optional Garnish: Add a slice of candied ginger or a thin lemon peel twist.
- Optional: Use smoky honey for depth or replace Islay Scotch with a dash of peated whisky essence.
