An Indian spiced tea beverage made by boiling black tea in a mixture of milk and water with a blend of aromatic spices and herbs. It is a flavorful and warming drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 240 ml Water
  • 240 ml Milk
  • 2 tsp Black Tea Leaves
  • 1 -Inch Piece Fresh Ginger, Crushed
  • 2 -3 Green Cardamom Pods, Crushed
  • 1 -2 Whole Cloves
  • 1 small Cinnamon Stick
  • Sugar To Taste

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil.
  2. Add the crushed ginger, cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon stick. simmer for 2 minutes to infuse.
  3. Add the black tea leaves and simmer for 1 minute.
  4. Pour in the milk and bring to a boil. reduce heat and simmer for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Strain the chai into mugs.
  6. Add sugar to taste and serve hot.
