A classic Indian milkshake made with sweet, malty chikoo — thick, creamy, and naturally caramel-like.

Comforting and wholesome, this shake is a timeless favorite that brings back pure, homemade charm.

  • Total Time: 3 minutes
  • Yield: 1 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup Cold Milk
  • 1/2 cup Chikoo (sapota) flesh, peeled and deseeded
  • 1 tsp Sugar (depending on fruit sweetness) (Optional)
  • Pinch of Cinnamon
  • Ice cubes, as needed
  • Chikoo slices, cinnamon dust, or chopped nuts (Optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Peel and deseed the chikoo, ensuring the fruit is soft and ripe for maximum sweetness.
  2. Add chikoo flesh, cold milk, sugar (if using), cinnamon powder, and a few ice cubes into the blender.
  3. Blend on medium-high speed for 20–30 seconds until thick, creamy, and completely lump-free.
  4. If the shake feels too thick, add a splash of milk and blend again briefly.
  5. Pour into a chilled tall glass, allowing a slight froth to form naturally on top.
  6. Garnish beautifully (optional): Add a thin chikoo slice on the rim, dust lightly with cinnamon, or sprinkle crushed nuts for a homely finish.
  7. Enjoy chilled — malty, smooth, and delightfully sweet.
  8. Optional tip: Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dash of honey for extra richness and dessert-style texture.
